Journey of Transformation At A Glance
Shim’s family business began with small trading by Sim Yow Yin in 1915. 5 years later, he set up family owned first Sundry shop named “Heap Hing Loong” in Tras, Raub. In 1954, the Sundry shop business was taken over by 2nd generation, Shim Yit Keong and his sister Shim Kwan Yong, it was renamed “Tai Lee”. The family business grew further, Shim Yit Keong opened another Sundry shop in Tras in 1965, while his sister continue to manage the shop in Sempalit. In 2000, Shim Yit Keong shifted his shop to Raub city district.

Our People
From the grocery business transformed into property development in Raub, the family owned brand “Tai Lee” (大利) and “Wawasan Group” (大利宏愿集团) have become common in local community. Tai Lee started as a family business in 1954 as rubber trading and sundry shop. Since the 2000’s, Shim family has ventured into Property Development for few projects and became a well known home brand in Raub, Pahang. Over the years, Shim family has played a leading role in transforming Wawasan Group into property development. This is an successor business growth for second generation. The focus of Wawasan Group transforming into property development progressively and conservatively since 2008. |

Wawasan Property Development
Wawasan Group expanded into Property Development in Raub with its inaugural residential property project in Raub, Pahang, in 2005. Over the past 20 years, the group has expanded into numerous commercial and residential developments. The modern design with quality-centric and value-for-money are key attributes enable Wawasan became one of very few premium developer in the local community.
To date, Wawasan Group’s property division has established a reputable track record with the successful completion of over 500 units of landed residential and commercial properties in Raub and Bentong, Pahang, alongside a high-rise mixed development comprising more than 800 units of shop offices and serviced apartments in the Klang Valley.
Building on this foundation, the Group continues to expand its footprint in landed developments in Raub, there are 220 units mixed industrial, commercial and residential development in the pipeline, while charting a strategic five-year roadmap that includes 221 units of industrial development at Salak Tinggi Industrial Park, Selangor; and over 1,000 units of serviced apartments in Shah Alam.
This forward-looking expansion reflects Wawasan’s commitment to sustainable growth, regional diversification, and delivering value across residential, commercial, and industrial segments.

The GEO Bukit Rimau, an iconic high-rise mixed commercial joint-venture project which has successfully established Wawasan Group's presence in the Klang Valley property market. GEO Bukit Rimau is on a 5.03 acres land, which is the last piece of Freehold prime Commercial land located strategically at the central of developed Bukit Rimau/Kota Kemuning. The entire development consists of 736 service apartments, 32 strata shop offices and 7 afforable shops, which were fully sold-out and have been handed over possession to the purchasers in May 2019. This development is a significant beginning for Wawasan Property Development’s strategic direction in becoming a high-rise developer.
